Scientific Council of RAS «Life sciences»
created to assist the Academy in implementing the tasks assigned to It
The Council is a scientific Advisory and expert body of the Russian Academy of Sciences
created for scientific justification, analysis, monitoring and examination of research and development in the priority area of science "life Sciences" and other areas related to living systems
Purpose of this council:
• promoting the development of life Sciences in the Russian Federation, basic research, and exploratory research;
• participation in the provision of scientific Advisory (consulting, expert services);
• preparation of proposals for the participation of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the formation and implementation of the state scientific and technical policy;;
• сassistance in strengthening scientific relations and interaction with subjects of scientific, scientific, technical and educational activities;
• research, analysis and promotion of achievements of world and Russian science, development of recommendations for their use in the interests of the Russian Federation; promotion of international cooperation and establishment of scientific ties between scientists of Russia and foreign countries in the areas of the Council;
• participation in the organization and holding of conferences, round tables, symposiums and other scientific-organizational and scientific-practical events;
• other objective.
The Councils activities are focused on the following areas:
• Biocatalytic, biosynthetic and biosensor technologies;
• Genomic, proteome and post-genomic technologies;
• Cellular technology;
• Bioengineering technologies;
• Biomedical and veterinary technologies;
• Technologies for reducing losses from socially significant diseases;
• Nano -, bio -, information, cognitive technologies;
• Other research areas.
